- Articles on this site reflect the
experiences of my wife, Angie. The info below is the result
of my interviewing her, and then posting the interview with the
corresponding resources and links on this site. We hope this helps
you conduct your own research on your unique path to wellness.
Please enjoy! Daniel.

Daniel: "Tell me why you use colloidal
silver."
-
Angie: "Colloidal silver is something I would
not want to be without. I've experienced the Infections that are common to those with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia,
allergies, chemical sensitivities, interstitial cystitis, and other
immune disorders. This stuff has been amazing for me. I've
used it successfully for vaginal, ear, lung, sinus, skin, toe, eye and
bladder infections.
-
-
I've been using colloidal silver for
probably over 15, and in my opinion it's saved me from the expense, the
discomfort and side effects of antibiotics over and over.
Colloidal silver is something I feel
passionate about. I've tended to have severe side effects from
antibiotics and I would have needed to be on them many times a year.
In my opinion, the silver helped me avoid that.
-
-
Colloidal silver is just very, very tiny particles of
silver in water. I've got links to articles that describe the
process that causes it to work
here."
-
-
What I have read is that silver apparently kills the
bacteria/virus/fungus on contact, and they can not build up an immunity
to it as they can to antibiotics. This is a huge advantage in my opinion. Taking
antibiotics too often and having those things build up resistance in
your body to antibiotics is very dangerous. It puts people at risk down
the road.
-
-
Once I had a bladder infection and was on
antibiotics for about 10 days. The infection and the fever with it
would not go away, and I was so sick from the antibiotic side effects.
Some time later I started on colloidal silver, and within a few days I
was fine! "
- Daniel: "Since it's actually
silver, is it expensive?"
-
- Angie: "I use a
Silvergen colloidal silver generator
which
is super easy to use, inexpensive to buy and run, and it saves me a ton of money
to make my own. I've read that the Silver Puppy is also a
generator that has gotten good results. At this point, if you spread the cost of the
silver maker which was not expensive, and the silver rods which are also
pretty cheap, it doesn't cost me anything to make silver.
-
- Buying it
in the store is pretty expensive, as I it runs into a lot of bucks to
take enough for it to be very effective. By making my own, I have an
unlimited and cheap supply and I can take as much as I need. However I
will add that you can buy better quality silver from some
manufacturers.
There's a good colloidal silver site with comparisons of silver
products. It also has a good discussion of the various forms of
silver and their pros and cons."
Daniel: "You used silver to
knock out a lung infection. Talk about that."
-
Angie: "I used the silver in a nebulizer. I was kind of nervous to try this,
but I had a bad flu that caused a lung infection. I was coughing up lots
of green. Of course at that time, I didn't have my Silvergen yet, but I
had a low level basic colloidal silver generator which only made 2 parts
per million silver solution. For breathing silver, I felt it was important to get the purest and best quality I could
get. I'd come to believe that this is sovereign silver, though after
talking with the Silvergen people, I would also feel comfortable using the silver
created by the
Silvergen machine.
The oral silver was not working, though I continued to take it orally. I've read that
you need to get the silver to make contact with the area of infection. I
had bought a nebulizer at a medical supply shop. I put a couple of
droppers full of the sovereign silver in the nebulizer, and did 3
minutes of deep diaphram breathing. I had read that shallow breathing
doesn't get it down there.
To do this I pushed all the air out till I couldn't get anymore out. I
inhaled drawing the air down, imagining it fill up my belly first, then
the top portion of my lungs. Shallow breathing seemed to make my lungs
irritated, but I felt fine with the deep breathing.
I did this every hour for maybe 3-4 hours, then a couple of more times
that evening. The next day I was doing somewhat better. I did this for a
couple more days, and the infection was gone - Thank God!!! My doctor
took a listen to my lungs and said they were clear. I continued a
day past the last signs of infection, tapering down as the infection
tapered down.
Quite honestly, I don't know if there are any long term issues. I have
chosen to use it anyway. It's a personal choice. I've
done it many times since, and the many folks I've spoken with don't think there is
any long term issues. With silver I didn't have to deal with the harsh side
effects of the antibiotics.
-
-
I feel I did better than my hubby who went on zithromax at the first
sign of infection. I got sick after him by almost a week, and my lungs
were better before his. This is not typical for us, considering
the health challenges I've had.
I also would add that I continued with what I normally do during a cold
or flu, though none of that prevented or fixed the lung infection
without the silver in the nebulizer.
Daniel: "Do you experience
any side
effects?"
Angie: "For me there have been no side effects. This
is amazing considering I have had extreme problems from antibiotics. In
my experience I found that silver does kill a little of the good bacteria as antibiotics
do if you use a lot of it, but not nearly
to the extent that antibiotics do. It's so negligible that many other folks believe it doesn't
kill good bacteria at all.
If it does, it's very mild. I'm going to link you to some sites that give
good explanations on how to
use silver, and what it does rather than talk technical with you.
The one remote but possible problem discussed on the
web
is Argyria, which is a skin discoloration problem. From what I could
dig up, it appears to be extremely rare. It's experienced by folks taking a different
form of silver than what I use, or those taking huge quantities with a
severe deficiency
in vitamin E and selenium. I've never met or heard of anyone first
hand who got this. I used to
drink many glasses of silver a day and never had a problem. Still it
doesn't hurt to be careful, so I use what's recommended. I'll give you a
link to an explanation of this for the folks reading this.
I researched the issue on the net,
and spoke to some industry people. I feel very comfortable taking
the silver. I just observe the basic recommendations concerning
quantity,
and I take vitamin E and selenium when I am taking silver. I've
never had a problem and I've never met anyone else who has.
Angie's Notes
- When taking silver orally, I hold it
under my tongue for 30-60 seconds for sublingual absorption.
- I
take silver a few hours apart from acidopholus.
- I take acidopholus, during the time
period and after using silver.
- I take vitamin E & selenium during the
times I'm taking silver. I read that argyria (which appears to be
extremely rare) could be caused by a
deficiency in these two things. (See colloidal silver safety links).
- - It's my understanding that home made
silver is good for a month or two. It should be stored away from light
(that's why you always see it packaged in dark glass), and away from
magnetic or electrical things, if I'm not mistaken. It should also be
stored in glass.
- If the silver has been sitting for a month or two, I chuck it and make
a new batch. It really doesn't cost anything.
- I've read that some store bought silvers are actually fairly useless
by the time you get it. I think it would depend on the brand, how long
it's been in the store, if it's been exposed to light, etc.
- - If I do have an
sinus infection or virus, or
other types of infection, I do often take
other things as well as the silver to add power to the punch. Silver has been
really effective for me, even alone, but I prefer to go at infection with
an aggressive approach. Also, if I am fighting an infection, it may
make me more vulnerable to viruses and fungus. I usually go after
all three when fighting an infection.
